Classic Coleslaw is a timeless favorite, loved for its crunchy texture and zesty dressing. Whether served alongside grilled meats or as a topping for sandwiches, this coleslaw adds a burst of freshness to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 small head of green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 large carrots, grated
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon celery seeds for added flavor

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, honey (or sugar), salt, and pepper. If using, add celery seeds.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until the vegetables are well coated with the dressing.
  4. Refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, give the coleslaw a final toss and adjust the seasoning if needed.
