Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon culinary lavender buds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, lavender buds, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into a log shape, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch rounds and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
