Elevate your tea time with these Earl Grey Infused Scones. The aromatic blend of Earl Grey tea and orange zest adds a sophisticated twist to these tender scones, making them a delightful companion to your tea ritual.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves (loose or removed from tea bags)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Steep the Earl Grey tea leaves in the milk for 5 minutes, then strain.
  5. Add the infused milk, orange zest, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead briefly, and pat into a 1-inch thick circle.
  7. Cut out scones using a round cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
