For the Honey Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- Decorations:
- Yellow and black fondant or icing for honey bee decorations
Preparation
Steps: For the Cupcakes:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and honey until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
For the Honey Cream Cheese Frosting:
- In a bowl, beat together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add the honey and continue to beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
Decorations:
- Roll out yellow fondant or use yellow icing to create small bee bodies.
- Roll out black fondant or use black icing to create stripes and wings for the bees.
