1/2cup orange juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
1/4cup water
1tbsp orange zest
Optional garnish: fresh rosemary or orange slices
Instructions
1
Combine Ingredients
2
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
3
Cook the Cranberries
4
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The cranberries will burst and the sauce will thicken.
5
Add Orange Zest
6
Stir in the orange zest toward the end of cooking. Continue simmering for a minute or two, allowing the zest to infuse.
7
Cool and Thicken
8
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the sauce cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
9
Serve and Garnish
10
Transfer the cranberry sauce to a serving dish and garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig or a slice of orange, if desired. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
